Again this year, ICSC's Leadership Development Program will be offering one-on-one mentoring appointments with a variety of industry professionals at the ICSC Florida Conference. The appointments are generally 20-30 minutes in length.

Please consider these appointments an opportunity to discuss general career strategies, industry developments, and the like. They should not be considered interviews for a potential job or internship position.

Patricia (Pat) Westerhouse, SCLS, SCSM


Pat Westerhouse has been involved in the real estate industry for over 25 years. Primary experience is shopping center operations including marketing, security, maintenance, merchant relations, budgeting and reporting. Additionally, she has negotiated numerous office and retail leases for both national and local tenants.

Professional designations include certifications from the ICSC as a Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS) and Senior Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM). Pat is licensed in the state of Florida as a Certified Public Accountant, Community Association Manager and a Real Estate Broker. Pat is also licensed as a Real Estate Broker in the states of North Carolina, Georgia and Virginia.

She is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the American and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Judith has been with the Anderson-Moore Construction management team since 2004. As Vice President of AMC, Ms. Schumacher manages client development, preconstruction services, marketing, and communications. With over 20-years of experience in the construction industry, she understands the importance of building trusted client relationships. Ms. Schumacher develops those relationships via active participation in industry-related organizations, such as the BDB, CREW, ICSC, Economic Forum, SFHHA, PBCMS, NAIOP, and USGBC, to name a few. Rod Castan, SCLS

Rod L. Castan has been in the commercial property development, sales, leasing, and management business since 1985. He is the President of the Leasing and Property Management Division and a Partner with Courtelis Company, a Miami based commercial and multi family real estate development firm that was established in 1963. He is responsible for the leasing and management of 25 existing properties and multiple new projects, totaling almost 3.0 million square feet in Florida and Colorado. During his 18 year tenure at Courtelis, he has been involved in the ground up development of 16 new shopping center and office development projects valued at over $400 million. Current projects in Miami include the Vicenza Plaza, a 73,298 square foot Wal-Mart neighborhood shopping center that just opened in Hialeah Gardens and the Fontainebleau Park Plaza, a 235,000 square foot community shopping center anchored by Wal-Mart, L.A. Fitness and Discovery Clothing that will open in 2013. Prior to joining Courtelis, Rod Castan was a Vice President with Balcor Property Management where he was responsible for the leasing of 1.7 million square feet of shopping centers in the Southeastern United States.

Rod Castan is the acting Southern Division Operations Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), past ICSC State Director for Florida, and recipient of the Senior Certified Leasing Specialist designation, SCLS. He has been a lecturer and guest speaker at real estate programs at ICSC, ULI, University of Florida, FSU, FIU, CCIM and Miami Board of Realtors.

Brad Peterson




CAREER SUMMARY


H. Bradley Peterson is a Senior Managing Director and head of the Orlando office for HFF. He has sold 164 shopping centers in the southeast totaling nearly $2.7 Billion over the past 10 years. Brad is consistently recognized by the Central Florida Commercial Association of Realtors’ as the Top Retail Investment Sales Broker in Central Florida and in 2010 and 2011, was recognized as the #1 Top Overall Producer in Central Florida. Brad has an MBA from Emory University and a CPA, was recently appointed as a state officer of ICSC for Florida, and is a founding board member of the University of Central Florida’s Real Estate Advisory Council.

Steve Althoff



Steve Althoff is Senior Vice President of Leasing and Property Management of The Sembler Company. Overseas the leasing of the Florida and Georgia portfolio in addition to the property management of Sembler Company’s portfolio of shopping centers located in Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico.  Currently the portfolio of properties totals in excess 12 million square feet in sixty locations.  Over the last three years the Florida Leasing Department has signed over 730,000 square feet of new leases and in excess of 315,000 square feet of Tenant lease renewals.  The Property Management Department provides management services to both company owned and third-party owners.  Third party owners include GLL, Prudential Real Estate, AEW, Blackrock and receivership services for SunTrust Bank and Wells Fargo.  Relationships with our Tenants are of paramount importance and leads to much of our success.

Steve has been with the company for over fifteen years.  Prior to joining The Sembler Company he was the V.P. of Property Management with Mark Centers Trust.  While at Mark Centers he was involved in the company issuing its initial public offering.  Mark Centers consisted of a portfolio of thirty-five community and neighborhood shopping centers, three enclosed malls and two mixed use projects, totaling 7 million square feet.

John Crossman


John M. Crossman is President of Crossman & Company, one of Florida's largest retail leasing and management firms with over 12 million square feet under leasing and/or management. He has been in the real estate business for over 17 years and has been involved with more than $1 billion in transactions. Prior to joining Crossman & Company John was a principal at Trammell Crow Company.

John has been an active member of ICSC for over 17 years. He holds several leadership positions including Co-chair of the South Division of the ICSC Alliance and is an active member of the ICSC Foundation Committee. John is also a Real Estate Executive Advisory Board Member for both Florida State University and the University of Florida and a Retail Executive Board Member for the University of Florida.

As an active speaker and writer on national retail issues, John has been featured in several prestigious publications. In early 2004, John was named Top Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Salesperson by the Orlando Business Journal.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate from Florida State University and has been an Orlando resident for the past 19 years. Charles "Chuck" Taylor, SCSM, SCLS



Charles "Chuck" Taylor is the Senior Vice President of Retail Services for Madison Marquette, leading the real estate services business for the company’s portfolio, consisting of over 4 million square feet and located in the Eastern Region of the United States and the US Virgin Islands. 

Mr. Taylor’s professional experience includes complex commercial real estate transactions, asset management, anchor and department store transactions, strategic planning, development and re-development. He began his real estate career in 1979, and throughout his 29 years of experience in National Retail Operations has been responsible for over 60 million square feet of real estate including neighborhood, community, regional and super regional centers.

In 1983 Mr. Taylor became part of The Graham Companies in Miami overseeing commercial properties and held the position of Vice President. Thereafter, during the 90’s he was employed at Trammell Crow Company, RMC/Konover Property Trust, and the Benderson Development Company as the Director of Leasing. In 2003 he became Vice President of Anchor Leasing for Urban Retail Properties Company. Most recently, Mr. Taylor held the position of Group Vice President of the Mills Corporation and was in the Anchor Leasing Department.

The Florida office of Madison Marquette was opened by Mr. Taylor in 2006, and has since created a full service real estate platform focusing on leasing, property marketing and asset management, acquisitions, third-party assignments and redevelopment.

Originally from Miami, Florida, Mr. Taylor attended Appalachian State University majoring in Business Administration. He holds both the SCSM and SCLS designations, and has participated as a speaker on numerous industry panels. Mr. Taylor is a longtime member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and current Florida State Director. Craig Kopko



Craig has been involved in Commercial Real Estate industry for almost ten years. He has worked on projects that range from unanchored retail centers to regional power centers.

In 2009, Craig joined North American Properties - Southeast, Inc. (NAPSE) and currently holds the position of Director of Leasing for the NAPSE office. Craig is responsible for overseeing the leasing department which is responsible for a portfolio of approximately 1,600,000sf of new and existing neighborhood, lifestyle and power centers throughout Florida and Georgia.

Craig has had the unique experience of entering the commercial real estate industry at a time when the nation was in an economic boom and has seen firsthand the effects and the challenges during the most recent recession. This has provided Craig the experience and knowledge of what it takes to be successful in the real estate industry regardless of economic factors. In addition, it puts him in a position to take full advantage of the momentum as the Real Estate market continues its recovery.

Kathy Ward-Darin is the Director of Leasing for Butler Enterprises, in Gainesville, Florida and is involved with the redevelopment and expansion of Butler Plaza focusing on the future addition of approximately 1,000,000 square feet of retail space. Kimberly Lamb, CPM



Kimberly Lamb joined Stream Realty Partners in 2013 as Senior Vice President.  Kimberly's role is to lead, manage, and grow Stream Realty's third party leasing and management division in Charlotte. She brings with her over 27 years of commercial real estate experience which includes office, retail, industrial, mixed-use and new development of all product and building types.


Prior to joining Stream Realty, Kimberly held the position of Senior Executive Vice President for Colliers International with overall responsibility for the Central, Southwest, and North Florida markets. She led the Retail Practice Group (landlord/tenant rep) leasing group, Asset/PM Management and Client Accounting Divisions for this territory and held the Tampa Bay Brokerage City Leader role along with other Company wide Corporate Operation responsibilities. She served on Colliers International Real Estate Managers Steering Committee for the US along with serving on the Colliers International Retail Steering Committee for the US and the Colliers International US New Business Development Team for REMS. She started with Colliers in 2007.

Katy Walsh has been a specialist in commercial real estate for over 25 years performing shopping center leasing and sales, asset management and shopping center redevelopment. She has been associated with

David Moret


David Moret is Executive Vice President with Continental Real Estate Companies ("CREC"), one of Florida’s largest real estate service providers. David is directly involved with asset management, workouts, acquisitions and the ultimate disposition of retail, office and residential properties, including distressed and foreclosed properties. Justin Greider


Justin Greider. Greider is Vice President - Director of Leasing at Crossman & Company. He is the leasing practice leader for the company’s 18 million Square Foot portfolio that covers five states. He personally is involved in the leasing and sale of outparcels and big-box spaces for a number of clients including the Publix-owned shopping center portfolio, as well as overseeing the leasing of the entire portfolio, which is over 10 million Square Feet, stretching throughout the Southeast. Justin currently oversees the leasing team at Crossman & Company, focusing on the approach and processes that the team uses in its efforts across the southeast. Justin is widely recognized as an expert in the industry as he is an active writer and speaker on retail issues. Through the course of his career, Justin has worked throughout the Southeast, but has focused his work and leadership efforts in the Orlando market, working to increase involvement from university students in the Commercial Real Estate industry. Justin’s leadership roles within the industry have grown from local and statewide, to regional and now national with his position as the co-chair of ICSC’s young leader program Next Generation (NextGen). Through this involvement, Justin was responsible for bringing ICSC’s celebration for the 500th extGen event to Orlando in late 2010, which hosted over 300 local professionals at the Hard Rock at Universal and featured Mayor Crotty, Mayor Dyer, and Sesh Thacker from Lake Nona as the keynote panel. Prior to joining Crossman & Company, Justin worked at HFF, where he was personally responsible for underwriting the sale of over 100 shopping centers throughout the Southeast from 2005-2009.

Dale E. Scott, SCDP, has over 40 years’ experience in construction and real estate. In the position of Director for Hawkins Construction, Inc. his responsibilities include Pre-Construction Services and Business Development.  Educated in Business Administration at Kansas University, Mr. Scott is active in many industry organizations including ICSC, ULI, NAIOP, AGC, ABC and others. 
He served as Chairman of ICSC/IMRA’s Joint Task Force for the International Building and Fire Codes, which was successful in having industry favorable language written into the code.  Dale is a past chair of the CenterBuild Conference, which is an annual conference for the design and construction segment of retail development, and currently serves on the CenterBuild Advisory Council.  Mr. Scott received the CenterBuild MVP for his service to that industry organization.  He has served as Chairman of ICSC’s Florida Conference, and currently serves on that conference planning committee. This annual conference is the third largest real estate conference in the world. He was also the Chairman of the planning committee for the West Florida Idea Exchange.  Along with being a past co-chair of the Central Florida Planning Committee, he is an active participant in ICSC’s Government Relations efforts. Dale was a member of the Governing Committee, which developed and monitors the industry’s prestigious Professional Designation, CDP (Certified Development, Design and Construction Professional).
Mr. Scott served as the ICSC Florida State Director for three years, and is a recipient of ICSC’s Trustees Distinguished Services Award. Jeremy Larkin


Jeremy S. Larkin is the President of NAI Miami. Mr. Larkin’s areas of expertise include landlord and tenant representation, real estate brokerage, mortgage brokerage, consulting and expert witness services, and, property and asset management. Larkin has supervised up to fifty people in four states and eight cities. Property and Asset Management: Creation of two property management companies and one asset management division. Portfolio has or currently includes 2,400 residential rental units, 1,100,000 square feet of retail properties and 300,000 square feet of office buildings. Duties included overseeing physical condition and financial performance of up to twenty six properties; initiating revenue enhancing and cost savings concepts to maximize investment return; identifying practical and financial feasibility of potential capital expenditures and new lease transactions; preparing and reviewing cash forecasts to determine viability and timing of cash expenditures and distributions; and, reviewing property performance and market conditions. Victoria (Vicki) Anthony has over 28 years of experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry. Whitaker Leonhardt


Whitaker Leonhardt is a Real Estate Analyst in the Orlando office of HFF with more than five years of experience in commercial real estate analysis with a primary focus in retail.  He works with both the investment sales and debt teams in Florida and is primarily responsible for performing financial and market analysis, preparing offering documents and coordinating the due diligence process.

Geneva Henderson


Geneva Henderson is Executive Vice President, Lat Purser & Associates.  She celebrated her 25nd anniversary with Lat Purser and Associates, a full service real estate firm, in which she has been a partner for the past dozen years.  She has been a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker since 1987 and is consistently ranked amongst the top producers in the LPA organization; receiving both the Bud Grice award for top leasing associate as well as the company’s Most Valuable Player award.
